SHAWNEE, Kan. — Olathe businessman and entrepreneur Greg Orman, the Independent candidate running for the U.S. Senate, will be participating in several events this week in the Kansas City area.
On Thursday, July 3, Mr. Orman will attend the grand opening of the Olathe Community Center, which is located at 1205 East Kansas City Road. The new facility will offer recreational, fitness and community outreach programs for Olathe residents and the surrounding area.
On Friday, July 4, the Orman for U.S. Senate campaign will participate in the Lenexa Community Days Parade, which starts at 10:00 a.m. in downtown Lenexa. Campaign volunteers and supporters will be collecting signatures along the parade route as part of the petition drive to qualify Orman for the general election ballot in November.
Also Friday, Orman will attend the Overland Park 4th of July Celebration, which will feature the American Legion Band of Greater Kansas City and a fireworks display. The event will be presented by the Overland Park Rotary at the Corporate Woods office park at 8717 West 110th Street.
On Saturday Mr. Orman will visit the Merriam Farmers’ Market at Merriam Marketplace and then travel to Jefferson County for the Jeff Fest fireworks festival at Perry Lake.
