SHAWNEE, Kan. — Businessman and Independent U.S. Senate candidate Greg Orman released a new ad today noting Senator Roberts’ failed record on immigration and highlighting Orman’s immigration plan that is tough, practical and fair to taxpayers. The spot - titled “11 million” - shows that while Sen. Roberts has been in Washington, the problem of illegal immigration has increased by more than 1,000 percent. But like a typical Washington politician, Roberts is lying about his opponent’s positions rather than trying to solve a problem.
“Instead of working on a solution, Roberts has come back to Kansas to lie about Greg Orman,” the ad states. “The truth? Orman opposes amnesty. He’ll secure the border with a plan that’s tough, practical and fair to taxpayers.”
Washington is broken because of politicians like Senator Roberts who are more interested in playing political games than solving problems.
But not businessman Greg Orman. While Roberts will say anything to get elected, Orman has laid out a clear, direct and tough plan to actually solve our immigration issues and help Kansas businesses.
“Washington is broken because politicians like Sen. Roberts refuse to address serious problems like immigration,” said Orman campaign manager Jim Jonas. “Our immigration problems have just gotten worse under Senator Roberts’ watch, and now he’s lying about Greg Orman to try to save his job. Greg actually wants to solve the problem, and his tough, practical plan is supported by Republicans like John McCain and Jeb Bush.”
A full transcript of the ad is included below and you can view the new ad here.
TRANSCRIPT: “When Pat Roberts first got to Washington, there were under one million illegal immigrants in America. 47 years later, the problem’s only gotten worse. Today, there are 11 million illegal immigrants. Instead of working on a solution, Roberts has come back to Kansas to lie about Greg Orman. The truth? Orman opposes amnesty. He’ll secure the border with a plan that’s tough, practical and fair to taxpayers. I’m Greg Orman and I approve this message because while they attack and try to label me, our country’s problems only get worse.”
