HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Independent U.S. Senate candidate Greg Orman easily outpaced his opponent this morning at the Kansas state fair debate, where he faced off with multi-term incumbent Pat Roberts.
Greg introduced himself to voters as the alternative to Washington’s broken system, and his debate performance was a stark contrast to Pat Roberts’ partisan tone. Greg discussed how to solve the important issues, while Sen. Roberts resorted to partisan attacks and misinformation.
“Kansans really do believe Washington is broken. They really do believe we are sending the worst of both parties – not just Republicans, not just Democrats – but the worst of both parties to Washington,” said Orman during the debate.
“If we want to solve our problems as a nation, we are going to have to get back into the serious business of problem solving instead of simply positioning to get re-elected. Ultimately that’s what our campaign is about. That’s the message that we’re sharing with Kansans.”
