SHAWNEE, Kan. – Sen. Pat Roberts has been caught skipping out on the job Kansans pay him for. He's missed 65 percent of the Senate Agriculture Committee hearings over the past 15 years according to press reports, and recently missed a key hearing on the Ebola virus, and then lied about it to Kansans.
When average Kansans were asked for their reaction to reports of Roberts showing up to work just a third of the time for the job they pay him for, they were unanimous on three points: If they skipped work like that they would be fired; they found Roberts’ conduct “failing,” “negligent” and embarrassing, and all agreed that it’s time to “vote him out.”
“Kansans know Washington is broken, and Senator Roberts is part of the problem,” said Orman for Senate campaign manager Jim Jonas. “Senator Roberts lives in Virginia, rarely visits Kansas, and doesn’t even show up for the job we’re paying him to do in Washington. These Kansans are right – after 47 years in Washington, Senator Roberts is out of touch with Kansas and it’s time for him to go.”
